GEO Netherlands
GEO Netherlands is the national coordination point for the use of satellite data, also known as Earth observation (EO), in the Netherlands. It brings together public authorities, research institutions, companies, and other organisations that apply EO to address societal challenges such as climate change, agriculture, water management, and urban development.
While many Dutch organisations already use EO data, their work is often not well connected or widely visible. At the same time, international programmes such as GEO, EuroGEO, Copernicus, and Horizon Europe offer growing opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and funding.
GEO Netherlands helps Dutch organisations take part in these international networks, innovate and scale their work. It connects initiatives, shares knowledge, and strengthens cooperation across sectors both within the country and abroad. By doing so, it makes Dutch expertise more visible and ensures that the Netherlands plays an active role in global EO developments.
GEO Netherlands is coordinated by the Netherlands Space Office (NSO) and funded by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. The initiative is building a growing community for public authorities, research institutes, companies and others who work with or want to work with earth observation data where knowledge is shared, opportunities are identified, and cooperation is encouraged.

We plan to organize at least one event per year for each Copernicus service and share quarterly updates with events and opportunities. You can also join our GEO Netherlands LinkedIn group to get access to more frequent updates. You can also present existing use-cases (aligning with GEO objectives) here.
