Save the date: ‘Copernicus Land, Marine, & Coastal Workshop’

The Netherlands Space Office (NSO) is organizing a workshop about the Copernicus Land (CLMS) and Marine Service (CMEMS) with special focus on the area where land meets water: the coastal zone.

We would like to hereby announce that we have set a new date for the abovementioned workshop which we unfortunately have had to cancel earlier this year. The new date of the event will be Tuesday March 30th 2021 and we aim for the same program as the original workshop (below). Given the dynamic situation we would like to organize the event both physically and virtually (hybrid), being compatible with all possible scenarios of COVID-19 developments. For a physically and virtually attractive environment we plan to hold the event at Space Expo, ESTEC’s public visitor centre in Noordwijk and will stream from there online. Further information in the exact setup of the event will follow. Please do register again, even if you have already registered for the workshop this year.

About the event:

The portfolio of Copernicus data and services is rapidly expanding. In this workshop we would like to inform the community on the recent developments and bring the different Copernicus sub-communities from land- and marine-service together, to create awareness beyond the present Copernicus community and to create an NL outlook for the contribution to and the use of Copernicus services, both nationally and internationally.

The event will showcase the diversity and vitality of the Copernicus Land and Marine Services. It will be a full day workshop. In the morning, following a general introduction there will be two parallel sessions. One on the land theme and one on the marine theme with presentations from different perspectives of the community (public, commercial, and scientific). In the afternoon we will have a plenary session focused on the coastal zone, for which recently the Copernicus Land & Marine Services joined forces to expand the service portfolio. We conclude the day by a panel discussion with the speakers and Copernicus Services representatives.

The program is now available below. Any updates will be published on the website.
