The Copernicus program is Europe's operational Earth observation program. The base of Copernicus consists of the Sentinel satellites. In the Copernicus services, the Sentinel data, in-situ observations, and model data are combined into information products for use by primarily European and national governments. These datasets are made public through 6 distinct services: “Atmosphere”, “Marine”, “Land”, “Climate Change”, “Security” and “Emergency”.
These services offer the analyzed data free for use. Users can freely download the data through the platforms. However, the security platform is only accessible to authorized government agencies. The platforms offer various services. For example, you can not only download the data on the climate change service, but also view and edit it. Portals also exist for sub-services such as the European Ground Motion Service (EGMS) as part of the Land Service.
