Chess stands for Computer Hardware & System Software and is an independent customer oriented and market driven company. Chess consist of a group of operating companies. Each company has its specific know-how and core competence. Chess provides services, products and solutions in the field of automation for electronic products, development of micro-electronics, embedded software and business-critical applications.
Space activities
Chess designs, develops and manufactures computer hardware (Boards and Chips) with its associated embedded software for space programmes. Over the last years Chess has built its reputation in the design, development and manufacturing of the Software HAndling Module (SHAM). The SHAM is a low cost test and validation facility for on-board software in flight represented environments. The line of Software Validation Facilities based on hardware-in-the-loop emulation of the target processors have become a family of products which supports many of the used on-board processors in space applications. Chess was involved in ESA in-house Independent Software Validation activities of ISO, SOHO, CLUSTER, XMM, Integral, Rosetta and others.
