Space activities
Since 1989 Bioclear is involved in the development of a Biological Air Filter (BAF) for removal of contaminants from space cabin air. Bioclear performed studies on microbial kinetics under microgravity conditions, also in co-operation with the universities of Groningen and Wageningen. Experiments in this field has been performed during the EuroMir mission in October 1995 and in ISS in 2004 and in Russian Spacecrafts in 2007. Several experiments for scientific research on bacteria are performed. Facilities are developed and produced for missies on the Shuttle, ISS and Russian rockets. As known some launches failed. The results of space research on bioprocessing, biotechnology and biological processes were used to understand better certain phenomena.
